Description
A low-profile night vision protection solution featuring a robust toggleable close-focus aperture. Ergonomic design that protects your objective and ocular (front and rear) lens from unwanted light exposure, impacts, and debris. Made from MJF PA11. Field repairable with "ranger" bands and 1/8 inch shock cord.
Compatibility:
Devices utilizing a Mil-Spec PVS-14 objective and ocular.
This device will work with sacrificial lenses that do not exceed the PVS-14 style objective outer diameter. We really like the Cold Harbour Ultra Low Profile Defender!
Disclaimer: These have not been tested on RPO optics, BNVD-PVS31s or ANVIS devices such as PVS-23 or PVS-31A.
Installation:
- Place the objective cover on the front with the pull tab oriented down.
- With the front objective cover in position, stretch the shock cord over the housing and place the ocular cover on the rear.
- Secure the shock cord by stretching the two included bands over the night vision housing.
- IF desired, tension the shock cord further by pulling the knots further out of the rear cap.
- Test the fitment and aperture function before securing new knots.
- Cut the excess shock cord at the new knots while leaving enough material to keep the knot from coming undone.
- Make sure you burn/melt the ends of the exposed shock cord where you cut! Lighters work great for this and it only takes a short moment of exposure to the flame to melt the outer shielding of the shock cord.
- Verify the aperture pull tab is still centered or slide it along the shock cord to the proper position.
- IF desired, trim the aperture pull tab with scissors.
What you will receive:
PVS-14 style objective and ocular covers pre assembled with shock cord.
Bands sized medium and small.
